The Epicurean Trader is a specialty independent running 6 Bay Area stores, small-format at about 2,935 sq ft each, indexing high on emerging & independent brands versus other Bay Area grocers.
Fist World Brand isn’t on The Epicurean Trader’s shelf yet in any of its 6 stores. The opening: 1 category where the shelf is already deep and the brand runs strong elsewhere.
Lead with Mixed Spice for Pho in Other Spices.
The Epicurean Trader stocks other spices thinly, so a differentiated snack stands out instead of becoming the Nth option on a crowded shelf. It already earns space at 1 other Bay Area grocer.
The more differentiated opening is other spices: The Epicurean Trader stocks only 5 there, so Fist World Brand Mixed Spice for Pho stands out rather than blending in.
The Epicurean Trader merchandises 1 of the 1 category the brand sells.
no strong clean/diet signal either way.
