Sfoglini at Woodlands
Woodlands is a specialty independent running 3 Bay Area stores, small-format at about 2,336 sq ft each, indexing high on clean-organic versus other Bay Area grocers.
Sfoglini isn’t on Woodlands’ shelf yet in any of its 3 stores. The opening: 1 category where the shelf is already deep and the brand runs strong elsewhere.
Lead with Whole Grain Reginetti, Organic Pasta in Other Pasta.
Woodlands stocks other pasta thinly, so a differentiated snack stands out instead of becoming the Nth option on a crowded shelf. It already earns space at 4 other Bay Area grocers.
The more differentiated opening is other pasta: Woodlands stocks only 6 there, so Sfoglini Whole Grain Reginetti, Organic Pasta stands out rather than blending in.
Woodlands merchandises 2 of the 2 categories the brand sells.

Not here yet, but the shelf is real: a clean first door into a category the brand runs deep in.
The store barely carries this category, so it is a hard sell.
